10 Tips For Parents

  2. Be firm.

  4. Make your position clear. Don't assume your kids know where you stand.
  5. Praise positive behavior and resist the urge to be critical.
  6. Learn to listen and encourage your child to tell you about problems.
  7. Steer conversations with your kids towards the subject of drugs and why they are harmful.
  8. Help with peer pressure. Try role-playing to help your kids practice dealing with risky scenarios.
  9. Be more involved with your children and family.
  10. Be a role model.
